Dubai is the second largest of the United Arab Emirates and the

Language
The official language of the UAE is Arabic but English is widely

The main English-language newspapers in the UAE are Gulf News,

Climate
From May to September, daytime temperatures average 40ºC in Dubai.
Winter brings more comfortable temperatures (15ºC to 30ºC) throughout
the UAE with exceptional rainfall.
Public Holidays
Religious holidays are linked to the Islamic Hijra calendar. These
include: Eid al-Fitr (the end of Ramadan), Eid al-Adha (Pilgrimage),
Lailat al-Mi'raj (the Ascension of the Prophet), the Prophet's
Birthday and the Islamic New Year. Secular holidays observed are
New Year's Day (1st January) and National Day (2nd December).
